Coordinate Throw Pillow
Coordinates of your hometown or a city you love is a perfect way to keep it close and remind you of home. I have been seeing similar pillows and home items in stores and online and I wanted to show you that making your own can be super easy!
To transfer the image onto the pillow, I used an iron on transfer paper. This paper is so easy, you simply print out the image you want on the pillow and iron it on! You just need to make sure you mirror the image before you print it.
The font I used is Courier New in Adobe Illustrator. I used Illustrator because it is easy to mirror before you print by going to Object > Transform > Mirror. If you don’t have Illustrator, you can mirror font in Microsoft Word by going to Text Options > Text Effects > 3D Rotation. I have linked the iron on transfer paper I used in the image below.
Once you have your image you can cut your fabric. I used a muslin fabric I had laying around but any plain cotton fabric will do. Follow the diagram below to cut and assemble your pillow cover. Be sure to transfer the image onto the front piece of fabric before you start sewing so that you have a perfectly flat surface to work on.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to maybe make your own coordinate pillow! Let me know if you have any questions.
With Love, Kaitlin
