Lightweight Turtleneck

Dressing for transitional weather can be a challenge. If you are like me, you always want to break out your fall clothes but know that it is still too hot. To help this, I made this lightweight turtleneck perfect for any season! The super light knit fabric gives this shirt an almost gauzy feel and doesn't hold in heat, while the long sleeves and classic turtleneck give a cozy feel that we all crave this time of year.

This turtleneck is actually so easy to make. The neckline is so simple, easier than probably any other kind of neckline! To hem the sleeves and bottom, I used a rolled hem on my serger with a contrasting white, silky thread. While I sewed, I stretched the fabric on the sleeves to give the appearance of the faintest bell sleeves. This added a decorative touch that I loved!  If you don't like this or don't have a machine that does this stitch, a normal hem will work just fine!

I used one yard of a very light blue knit I had stashed away. Doing this again, I might order 1.5 yards just to be safe.

Before you cut your fabric, make sure you have all the measurements drafted out. Follow the guides below to figure out your pattern based on your own measurements.

After you have all your fabric cut, you may begin sewing!  Let me know if you have any questions, I tried to make this as clear as possible!
