Snowfall Sweater Knitting Pattern
Introducing: The Snowfall Sweater!
Choosing the Perfect Size
This sweater is graded for sizes XS-3XL and designed with a slightly relaxed fit. I made sure to make it not too oversized so you can easily size down if you want a more snug-fit.
If you need help choosing a size, I am 6’ tall with a 34” bust, 36” hips, and am pictured wearing a size small with 6” of positive ease. This means that the bust measurement of the sweater is 6" greater than my actual bust size. For example, if your bust is 43” you would wear a size Large. If you prefer your sweaters to fit more snug, choose a size that is less than 4” larger than your bust measurement. Use the measurements below to help you decide!
XS, (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X)
Finished Bust/Chest Circumference: 36, (40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60)
Finished Length: 24, (25, 25, 26, 26, 27, 27)
Note: if you are making this sweater as a gift -- choose a sweater that you know the receiver likes to wear, lay it out flat, and measure the width of the bust at the widest point!
Materials
Another way that I made this sweater easy and fun to knit is by using larger needles! This helps the sweater work up faster and really shows off the colorwork as you knit. The yarn used is Lion Brand Color Made Easy -- a bulky category 5 yarn. Any bulky category 5 yarn will work as long as you make sure the gauge matches up!
I've added the full materials list below:
- 3, (4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) balls / 741, (988, 988, 988, 988, 1235, 1235) yards of Lion Brand Color Made Easy Yarn (shown in Shade as the Main Color)
- 1, (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1) ball / 247, (247, 247, 247, 247, 247, 247) yards of Lion Brand Color Made Easy Yarn (shown in Birch as the Accent Color)
- Size 10.5 US (6.5 mm) 32” or larger circular needles NOTE: For larger sizes, you may want a longer circular needle when working the large number of stitches on the yoke.
- Size 10.5 US (6.5 mm) double pointed needles (or long circular needle for magic loop)

- Size 10 US (6 mm) double pointed needles (or long circular needle for magic loop)
