Chunky Knit Shawl
Until recently, I was never interested in knitting shawls and wraps. I imagined them as something older and out of fashion and really couldn’t see them fitting into my wardrobe. Luckily, I am no longer ignorant to the beauty of shawls and the limitless possibilities they present.
This knitting pattern is meant to teach the basic technique to knit a triangle shawl. I designed this pattern to use chunky yarn to knit quickly and make a shawl that is perfect for cold weather. Once it is knit up, it is basically like being wrapped in a blanket.
For this shawl, I used Deborah Norville Active Serenity Yarn in White and Dark Grey. Any chunky yarn will do but I chose this yarn not only because it is so beautiful and soft but it is affordable as well. They recently stopped carrying this yarn at most stores but I have linked them below.
The possibilities when making a shawl are endless and different yarn or textures can show up so beautifully. If you are looking for something more advanced, let me know and I can refer you to some of the beautiful patterns that have changed my mind on shawls.
I hope that you enjoy this pattern. Please let me know if you have any questions. Happy knitting!
With Love, Kaitlin
