Celia Sweater Knitting Pattern
Hello knitters! We are finally coming up on my favorite knitting season — summer! I love how breezy and casual summer knitting patterns can be. This pattern, the Celia Sweater, is the perfect basic pullover for summer and beyond.
This summer knit is made using Lion Brand Coboo yarn — an absolute favorite! This is the softest cotton yarn I’ve ever worked with and it has such excellent drape. I’m sure it will never pill either, each ply is wound tightly and smoothly. I will say, it does split. But just be aware of this and as you are knitting make sure you grab each ply fully.
I designed this sweater to be worked from either side, starting at the sleeves, and joined at the end using a three-needle bind off. I know this technique can be a bit scary if you’ve never done it, but it’s a lot easier than you think. This tutorial (linked here) can help you make your three-needle bind off lay more flat and be even more attractive.
The Celia Sweater is designed in 7 women’s sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X
Finished Width at Chest: 18, (20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30)
Finished Chest/Bust Circumference: 36, (40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60)
Finished Length: 24, (25, 25, 25, 26, 26, 26)
Finished Sleeve Length: 18, (18, 18.5, 18.5, 19, 19, 19)
To find the right size for you, measure your bust and choose a size where the finished measurements are 4-6″ larger. For example, if your bust measurement is 42 inches, you would wear a size large. You may add more or less ease for a looser or tighter sweater.
